Angie Salvato, Executive Director

Angelina “Angie” Salvato is a lifelong Alaskan and retired Police Officer. Angie retired from the Anchorage Police Department in 2023 to finish her PhD in Clinical Psychology.  Her dissertation was entitled: Meaningful Police-Community Connection as Part of an Organizational Wellness Program: A Descriptive Case Study. Angie graduated from Saybrook University with her PhD in 2025 and is currently a Post-Doctoral Intern and Clinician at the Cohen Clinic.  Angie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Washington, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Alaska and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Saybrook University. 
Angie serves AACOP as the volunteer Executive Director.  Angie is passionate about her advocacy for first responder mental health and professional policing in Alaska. Angie is an original founder of the non-profit Anchorage Cops for Community and continues to be an Advisory Council member of the Board.  Angie additionally serves as the President of the Board for Family Outreach Center for Understanding Special Needs (FOCUS) where she advocates for inclusion and support of individuals and families.
