Chief Jerry Reddick
Chief Jerry Reddick has served as Chief of Police for the Skagway Police Department since 2020. With a law enforcement career spanning more than 25 years, he brings broad experience, practical leadership, and a deep commitment to public safety.
Chief Reddick began his career in 1999 and has served in a wide range of roles, including Reserve Officer, Jailer, Dispatcher, Patrolman, Detective, and Narcotics Investigator. His experience includes working with a Sheriff’s Office on narcotics investigations and serving as a Task Force Officer alongside Homeland Security and the FBI, focusing on complex narcotics cases. He also served as Lieutenant and Commander over the Criminal Investigation Division for the Sheriff’s Office in Carroll County, Arkansas, where he supervised investigative operations and personnel.
Since 2009, Chief Reddick has been a certified law enforcement instructor, sharing his knowledge and experience with officers at various stages of their careers. He believes strongly in mentorship, professional development, and preparing officers to meet the evolving challenges of modern policing.
As Chief in Skagway, he is committed to maintaining strong community relationships, supporting his officers, and promoting collaboration among agencies across Alaska. Chief Reddick values practical leadership, open communication, and fostering trust both within his department and with the public he serves.
