Job Title:  Patrolman, City of Fort Yukon Police Department


General Description: 


Under the supervision of the Director of Public Safety, it is the duty of the patrolman to enforce all City and State ordinances and statues with the City of Fort Yukon; to regulate the conduct of persons within the City, so as to protect the public’s health, safety, peace, and welfare.  To protect property within the City of Fort Yukon from loss and/or destruction by unlawful means.  The preceding examples are representatives of assignments performed by this class and are not intended to be inclusive. 




Performs standard crime and accident prevention duties.

Patrol residential, commercial and rural areas of the City.

Performs duties stipulated under City Code Chapter 2, Section 28.010

Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.

Ability to read and understand laws, ordinances, rules and regulations

Ability to maintain effective working relations with fellow employees and citizens.


Desired Requirements:


Must be 21 years of age.

High School Diploma or its equivalent, supplemented with criminal justice

Willing to obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications

Physical strength and ability to perform work.
