
Chief Paul Lindhag was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and later raised in Detroit, Michigan, and then International Falls, Minnesota, where he graduated in 1972 from Falls Senior High School. Chief Lindhag spent eight years in the United States Air Force and separated in 1981 to attend the 35th Alaska State Trooper Academy in Sitka, Alaska. In addition to being a State Trooper, Chief Lindhag has also worked at the Fairbanks Airport Fire & Police as a dispatcher and police officer, at DMV, and at the Alaska State Trooper Judicial Services. In 1991, he was hired as a North Pole Police Officer. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, in 1993.
In May of 1999, Chief Lindhag was promoted to Sergeant and was appointed to Chief’s position in June of 2004.
Chief Lindhag holds an Advanced and Instructor Certificates from the Alaska Police Standards Council. He currently certified to instruct in the Data Master, Emergency Vehicle Operations (E.V.O.C.), handgun, rifle, and computer programming. He is both the designer and IT person for the North Pole Police Department computer network. He is a member of the Alaska Association Chiefs of Police, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Association for Search and Rescue, and the Alaska Peace Officer’s Association.
Chief Lindhag enjoys all types of fishing, hunting, golf, computers, and time spent with his family. He is currently enrolled in online study to obtain his minister’s license for the Church of the Nazarene.
