The training is being provided by a joint effort between the Alaska Municipal League Joint Insurance Association (AMLJIA) and the Alaska Police Standards Council (APSC). There is a nominal charge of $100 for this 40 hour APSC certified course. This fee will be waived for AMLJIA members, and AMLJIA members will be eligible for a subsidy to offset travel and lodging costs. Increase your agency’s professionalism and decrease your liability. The Institute will again feature Dave Wareing, former Undersheriff for Whatcom County, Washington, as the instructor. Mr. Wareing always receives unanimously high praise from Alaskan police officers attending the institute. He has a broad background in administration, supervision, planning, public relations, crime prevention and youth services. He also served as a county administrator for three years. Mr. Wareing taught for the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center, and as an Adjunct Professor for Washington State University’s Criminal Justice program. Presently, he is the managing principal of the Challenger Group, an executive level consulting firm that works with clients in the U.S., Canada, and New Zealand. He advises, trains, and assists government entities, as well as business organizations, university and tribal police departments, and criminal justice agencies. Mr. Wareing is the General Manager of the Sudden Valley Community Association near Bellingham, Washington. |
