Chief Glass joined the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan as a Judicial Services Officer (JSO) in March 1973 and attended the 22 nd Trooper Recruit Academy in Sitka in October 1973. Upon completion of the Academy in February 1974 he was assigned to Anchorage .

During the next 22 years Glass was assigned to Girdwood, Juneau, Ketchikan, Bethel, Juneau, Palmer and Anchorage . In January 1995 he was appointed as the Colonel of the Alaska State Troopers Fish & Wildlife Protection. He retired from this position in March of 2000 after having served 27 years with the Troopers.

In September 2001 Chief Glass began working for Purcell Security on the North Slope at Prudhoe Bay . He then joined Doyon Security in April 2004 and worked at the Missile Defense Site in Delta Junction, Port of Anchorage and Kuparek on the North Slope .

In February 2006 Glass became the Deputy Chief of the Wasilla Police Department and became the Chief in July 2006. He is a graduate of the 157th Session of the FBI National Academy and of the Law Enforcement Executive Development Session of the FBI National Academy . He is a member of the Alaska Chiefs of Police, BPOE #1842 and the Wasilla Sunrise Rotary Club and FBINAA. He is a Life Member of the Alaska Peace Officers Association (APOA),

Chief Glass resides in Wasilla with his Wife Melinda. He enjoys recreational activities such as hunting, flying, running and SCUBA diving. An avid snow machiner Glass has participated in the Iron Dog Snow machine race twice. Once as a recreational rider and raced in 2004. He is anticipating racing it again in 2008.
