Chief Moates recently moved to Nome after 22 years of Law Enforcement in Tennessee. Chief Moates retired from a progressive career with the Franklin, Tennessee Police Department as a Commander (Deputy Chief) and spent the last five (5) years as a Chief of Police and a Management and Technology consultant in the public/ private sectors. Chief Moates is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Quantico, Virginia) 161st session. He is the past President of the Tennessee Chapter FBI National Academy Associates and was the Executive Secretary/ Treasurer for that organization before relocating to Nome, Alaska. Chief Moates has a Bachelors degree from Liberty University (Lynchburg, Virginia) in Criminal Justice and is a member of the International Association of Chief’s of Police, Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, American Society for Law Enforcement Training and previously held the position of Assistant Director of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics- Tennessee.
