Ben Dudley has been a resident of Bethel , Alaska , for the past 19 years and is a proud graduate of Bethel Regional High School . A couple years after graduating high school he began his law enforcement career in June of 1993 as a Community Service Officer with the Bethel Police Department. He was promoted to Patrol officer in 1994, Patrol Sergeant in 1997 and Lieutenant in 2001. After working under the command of five different chiefs of police during that period of time, in June of 2004 the Bethel Police Department was once again looking for another chief to lead the department. After much contemplation Ben made the decision to toss his hat in the ring and was officially appointed as Chief of Police on September 28, 2004 .
Ben Dudley enjoys the bush lifestyle of rural Alaska . As an avid hunter, fisherman and private pilot he can not think of a better place to live. He is also the father of two great boys (with a third child on the way this month) and the husband to his wonderful wife Valerie. Ben Dudley very proudly calls Bethel his home and has no thoughts of moving on any time soon.
